Dworshak State Park is located among trees and meadows on the western shore of Dworshak Reservoir. The park is comprised of three units - Freeman Creek, Three Meadows Group Camp, and Big Eddy Lodge and Marina.

Camping, boating, fishing, swimming, hiking and water-skiing are just some of the many activities that await park visitors. A boat ramp and handling dock provide easy launching most of the year. A fish-cleaning station is nearby to help with the day?s catch.

Camping
Freeman Creek has 105 campsites, three group loops, four camping cabins and a large picnic shelter. Showers, restrooms, boat ramp, archery range, and hiking trails are available for visitors. Camping, boating, fishing, hiking, waterskiing and archery range are just some of the many activities that await park visitors. Large group facilities make Dworshak the perfect spot for gatherings with friends and family.

Three Meadows Group Camp is great for overnight group functions. It offers a spacious lodge with kitchen facilities, and eight bunk-style group cabins, with an additional cabin that sleeps four.

Big Eddy Lodge is available to rent for activities such as weddings, family reunions, and other similar group functions. Big Eddy Marina is the only marina and fueling station on the Dworshak Reservoir and has 101 boat slips. Ice, snacks and other items are also available.
Swimming
1. Dworshak State Park offers a designated swimming area at Freeman Creek.
2. The park's reservoir is also available for open water swimming.
3. Swimming safety measures are enforced by the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation.
4. Life jackets can be borrowed from the Visitor Center free of charge, ensuring safe aquatic activities in all areas.
5. Boating facilities near swim spots allow easy access to deeper waters for experienced swimmers or snorkelers.
6. The calmness of the lake makes it ideal even for beginners learning how to swim.

Boating
The park offers a variety of boating options for visitors. There are three boat ramps available, two in the Freeman Creek area and one at Big Eddy Marina which also provides moorage facilities. The marina has 101 slips that can accommodate boats up to 30 feet long with power outlets provided on each slip. Boat rentals including pontoon boats, fishing boats and paddle boards are offered by an onsite concessionaire during summer months from Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend.
Fishing
Located in Idaho, this park offers abundant fishing opportunities. Anglers can catch rainbow trout and smallmouth bass from the reservoir's clear waters. Kokanee salmon are also plentiful here during certain seasons. Fishing is possible both onshore or by boat with several launch ramps available for use.

Picnicking
Dworshak State Park offers numerous picnic spots with scenic views. Amenities include tables, grills and restrooms. Some areas are reservable for larger groups.
Bicycling
For biking enthusiasts, the park offers several trails. However, caution is advised due to varying terrain and difficulty levels.

Some paths are steep or rocky; suitable for experienced mountain bikers only.

Beginners should stick to easier routes with less challenging topography.

Remember that some areas may not be accessible during certain seasons because of weather conditions.

Always wear a helmet while cycling in this area as safety precautions cannot be overstressed here.

Be aware that wildlife encounters can occur on these trails so stay alert at all times.

Also note: motorized vehicles aren't allowed on most bike paths within the park boundaries.
Birding
The park offers excellent birding opportunities with over 100 species, including ospreys and bald eagles. Birdwatchers can explore various habitats such as forests, meadows, and the reservoir shoreline. The Freeman Creek area is a popular spot for spotting different birds due to its diverse ecosystem. Visitors are advised to bring binoculars for better viewing experiences.
