After removing the Miami Indians from this area, the government added insult by moving the remains of Frances Slocum and many Miami from the their original burial grounds so that the Mississinewa reservoir could be constructed. Now the state is considering logging the forest where the cemetery was relocated. When does it ever end?

really nice trails, really pretty scenery! some trails extreme, but all but a few have a way around!

We go pleasure boating on this reservoir. It has a nice No Wake Cove near the Miami Ramp and a nice No Wake zone at the river end past the bridge. It is currently suffering from severe algae bloom - signs are posted to wash afer exposure and not to consume any of the water. Normally this reservoir does not suffer from this problem - this is the first year that it has been this bad for so long.
