KILLEARN GARDENS STATE PARK
Killearn Gardens State Park is a beautiful, tranquil space known for its diverse wildlife and lush vegetation. The park features an iconic 17th-century garden with azaleas, camellias and historic oaks draped in Spanish moss. It also offers several walking trails that meander through the woods around Lake Hall where visitors can enjoy bird-watching or fishing activities. This picturesque site provides picnic areas perfect for family outings while offering educational programs about local history and ecology as well.
Located in Tallahassee, Florida, this park was once a plantation owned by Catherine Murat from 1826 to 1867. It became state property in the late 1940s and opened as a public garden. The site features Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park's historic gardens established between 1923-1953 by New York financier Alfred Barmore Maclay.
