Kings Mountain State Park rests in a picturesque setting adjacent to Kings Mountain National Military Park, a prominent Revolutionary War battle site. This traditional state park, which encompasses 6,883-acres, offers outdoor recreation activities such as hiking trails, picnicking, fishing from a rental jon boat, seasonal canoe rentals, equestrian trails and more.

Bicycling
For biking enthusiasts, the park offers a 10-mile equestrian trail that is also open to cyclists. However, it's important to note this path can be challenging due to its hilly terrain and natural obstacles.

Cyclists should exercise caution as they share these trails with horse riders; respect for all users ensures everyone's safety.

Helmets are strongly recommended when cycling in the area due to potential hazards on uneven paths.

Biking after dark isn't permitted within park boundaries - plan your trip accordingly so you finish before sunset.

Always check weather conditions prior- wet or icy surfaces could make riding dangerous here.

Remember: there aren't any bike rental facilities available onsite - bring your own equipment!

May 22 WARNING Jack Attack by Ann Ramsey
park review stars; one to five I am writing to warn other trail riders about an incident that happened to me on 5/15/17 while riding the new trails that go by the Living History Farm. A jack got loose & tried to attack me & my horse. My little 5 year old TW mare ran off with me trying to escape the jaws of the jack. My 2 friends got off to control their horses but the jack kept chasing me & my mare. I was terrified & feel truly blessed that I did not end up in the hospital or dead. This animal should not be left at K.M.S.P.
