Lake Francis is a 2,000 acre lake in the Connecticut Lakes region of the Great North Woods. Hunters and anglers enjoy this park as a base for their respective activities. A boat launch is located in the day-use area of the park. Canoeists enjoy exploring the upper part of the Connecticut River.

The park is open mid-May to mid-December. Late fall campers should be aware that there is no running water in the campground from mid-October for the remainder of the season.

Anglers can enjoy fishing from shore or boat, targeting species like brook trout and landlocked salmon. Other fish include yellow perch, smallmouth bass and chain pickerel. Ice fishing is popular during winter months for those seeking a different experience.
