The park's four miles of boardwalks offer excellent spots to cast your line from the shore.

Fishing tournaments occur regularly throughout the year, offering an exciting challenge for anglers of all skill levels.

Remember that South Carolina state law requires a valid freshwater license before casting off.

Old Santee Canal State Park is located near Goose Creek, Ladson and Moncks Corner

Birding
The park offers a variety of birding opportunities, with over 160 species spotted. Birdwatchers can explore four miles of boardwalk and trails through diverse habitats including wetlands, forests and marshes. The Interpretive Center provides information about the local avian population. Visitors may see bald eagles, ospreys or various waterfowl depending on the season.
