Ouabache is difficult to spell, but easy to pronounce. Simply say 'Wabash'...just like the river that forms the southwest boundary for the park. This is the French spelling of an Indian word, so don't be surprised to hear some folks call it o-ba-chee.

Kunkel Lake offers excellent fishing. During the summer months, a naturalist will provide information about the natural wonders of the park. A rental pavilion is ideal for special gatherings and is now available all year.

February 19 A fun day by Dave and Peggy
park review stars; one to five 2/18/12 we Did a late winter hike. Looks as if the park staff is working hard on fixing up some trails. Look forward to going back in spring and doing more Hiking and enjoying the peace and quiet.
August 18 Our Sentimental Favorite by Ryan Newman Fan
park review stars; one to five My parents took me here when I was a kid and now I take my family here. The campground is very clean. Most sites are nice and level. Great for big rigs. The pool is the best in Indiana as they added a large waterslide a couple years back. If I have to pick a negative the bathhouses could use a updating. The main, original campground section A, has by far the best sites. The newer section, B, is not paved, and sits on a hill. Great trails, great playgrounds. A great place to stay.
July 15 Pool, boating & buffalo by Long time fan
park review stars; one to five This is a wonderful park. I loved it as a kid. My kids now love to go also. The pool is great. They have a very fun waterslide. The paddleboats are so much fun. Our favorite is the buffalo. They are so much fun to watch. Plus, we are all challenged by the fire tower. It is hard to stay away from and always a challenge to make it to the top. How brave are you?
