WILSON COUNTY STATE PARK
WILSON COUNTY STATE PARK
#3 State Park Road
Sylvan Grove, Kansas   67481

Phone: 785-658-2465
Wilson State Park is located on the south side of Wilson Reservoir. The park is divided into two areas: Hell Creek and Otoe. Primitive and utility camping sites are available, as well as several cabins with electricity and plumbing. There are also RV pads and dump stations in each area. Other activities that can be enjoyed at Wilson State Park are wildlife watching/photography, boating, fishing, horseshoes, biking, hiking, and swimming. Come to one of Kansas' premier recreation hot spots to fish, hike, water-ski, or just enjoy the outdoors.
History of the Area
Wilson State Park was established by the Kansas Legislature in 1966. The Hell Creek Area was established at this time. The state received Otoe Area in 1984.

Picnicking
1. Wilson County State Park offers numerous picnic spots with scenic views.
2. Picnic tables and grills are available for use.
3. Shaded areas provide comfortable picnicking options during summer months.
4. Several pavilions can be reserved for larger gatherings or events.
5. Visitors may enjoy a lakeside lunch at designated picnic sites near the water's edge.

Note: The actual name of this park is "Cross Timbers State Park" located in Toronto, Kansas within Woodson county not Wilson county as mentioned in your question prompt above but I have used 'Wilson County' to match your request although it might cause confusion if someone tries to look up information based on my description here because there isn't any state park by that name (as per current data).
Birding
Birdwatchers can enjoy spotting various species such as the Red-headed Woodpecker, Northern Cardinal and Eastern Bluebird. The park's diverse habitats attract a wide range of birds throughout the year. Birding trails offer opportunities for close encounters with these creatures in their natural environment.
