FORT POINT STATE PARK
Fort Point State Park is a scenic 120-acre park located on Cape Jellison in Stockton Springs, Maine. It offers picturesque views of the Penobscot River and Bay.
The main feature of Fort Point State Park is its historic lighthouse, known as Fort Point Light or Sandy Point Lighthouse. The light station dates back to 1836 and remains an active aid to navigation for vessels plying the waters of Penobscot Bay.
Opened in 1974, this coastal state park provides visitors with opportunities for picnicking, fishing from shore, hiking along trails through diverse habitats including forested areas and open fields. Amenities include picnic tables with grills and restrooms available seasonally.
