Enjoy fishing in the freshwater lake, home to species like Yellow Perch, Smallmouth Bass and Northern Pike. The park's river also offers opportunities for catching Steelhead and Salmon. Anglers can fish from shore or use a boat at designated areas.
P J Hoffmaster State Park is located near Allendale, Grand Haven and Muskegon

2. There are two covered pavilions available for rent.
3. Picnic areas have playgrounds nearby, perfect for families with children.
4. The park's beach area is also a popular spot to enjoy picnics while watching the sunset over Lake Michigan.
The park offers diverse birding opportunities with over 338 species recorded. It features a variety of habitats including forests, dunes and wetlands attracting different types of birds. Birdwatchers can explore the three-mile nature trail or visit the Gillette Sand Dune Visitor Center for educational exhibits on local avifauna. The spring migration period is particularly popular among enthusiasts.
We have a passport pass but were stopped from entering at first. They only allowed us to drive through, not park, not use restrooms if need be. Do not understand if were looking at possible sites but cant look at
Beautiful Lake Michigan beach park. Plenty of room and the beach is clean. Only problem is people are bringing their dogs when they come for the day.
