Developed primarily for and offering among the best public access on Lake Thurmond, Baker Creek provides water recreational opportunities near scenic lakeside campsites. The lakefront pavilion accommodates large group gatherings. The 10-mile mountain bike trail also opens up the park?s vistas of serene Piedmont forest, land and waterfowl and wildlife, including abundant wild turkey. Located along the South Carolina Heritage Corridor, Baker Creek provides a relaxing, out-of-the-way venue for experiencing quality recreation among undisturbed natural resources.

Meeting Rooms
Meeting Buildings: The Pavilion is an ideal meeting facility for family reunions and other group gatherings up to 150 people.

This covered open-air facility overlooks Strom Thurmond Lake and rents for $90-112/day. The facility is located near the day-use area and is convenient to the volleyball court, basketball goals and horseshoe pit.
Camping
Two 50-site campgrounds are located along the shores of Strom Thurmond Lake. Both campgrounds are conveniently located in relation to restrooms with hot showers. Campground #1 is ideal for tent campers. Each site includes individual water, no electricity and rents for $10-13/site/night. Campground #2 includes sites with individual water and electrical hookups which rent for $15-17/site/night. Some Campground #2 sites accommodate RVs up to 40 feet, others up to 30 feet. Discounted rates are available for seasons of lower demand. A Dump Station is accessible to campers at both campgrounds.

A primitive group camping area is ideal for organized groups up to 100 people. (An organized group is defined as ?a group that holds regular meetings and has a lead officer or elected/appointed officials?.) The area includes picnic tables and is located 100 feet from the restoom. Minimum rate is $10 -$12.50 which allows up to ten campers. The rate increases by $5-$6.50 increments for each additional five campers. To make a primitive group camping reservation, contact the park directly.

Fishing
Enjoy fishing in Strom Thurmond Lake for several species of bass, crappie, catfish, bream and striper. A valid South Carolina fishing license is required.
