My parents went to Balance Rock on their honeymoon in 1940. I will be happy to download their snapshots. Was it already part of a State Park in 1940? They stayed in a white, clapboard cottage called the Pontoosuc Lodge. Does that ring a bell? They visited a friend, Elmer Swack, at his farm in Pittsfield.

Balance rock state park is awesome. To see nature set a rock so balanced is amazing .Over many years visitors have left their names on these rocks. Some very well may be hessien or british left during the revolutionary war.
