Our church favorite park - This wonderful state park is and has been our church favorite park for over 12 years. Every year New Life Spanish Christian Church has utilized this facility to celebrate our annual church gathering and baptism. The park staff is the best in terms of how they treat everyone who enters the park. May God bless them Rev. Dennis Bradley Sr.

I question the management of this park.. - This is a beautiful piece of land. There are park rules. There should be a lifeguard at a public swimming area. Why are there signs saying no life guard on duty

My go to place - I have been coming here for over 30 years. I went as a child with my family , to bringing my own little family. This place is perfect in everyway. We absolutely love it here. Only downfall is you can only go a total of 14 days out of the season. I understand I guess we have to share. See you soon my second trip of the season is coming up 12 days straight.. in heaven.

No Handicap Parking at Ashland Boat Ramp - My husband is disabled and in the summer season is unable to access the Ashland State Park area by the boat ramp because there are no handicap assigned parking areas-he has made several inquiries but received no answers-yet a local camp is allowed to park boat trailers where handicap parking should be-he is in a wheelchair and likes to fish but cannot park close enough-frustrating that his inquiry is not taken seriously as I am sure there are others in the same position

State Forest Park - I understand that this is the only State Forest Park in Massachusetts, and earned its unusual designation as a result of the contract between the original seller, who wanted it to be called that, and the state. So in our beautiful state, we have State forests, parks, reservations, and one forest park!

Great Bicycle trails, but signage poor - Great Bicycle trails, but signage is very poor. Maps I believe are only available at the forest headquarters and there are a number of public road entrances to the reservation. You possibly could get lost unless you have a good sense of direction. Do your homework before you go! - AND be sure to check the dates for hunting season. If I remember correctly hunting is not allowed on Sundays!

My parents honeymooned here in 1940 - My parents went to Balance Rock on their honeymoon in 1940. I will be happy to download their snapshots. Was it already part of a State Park in 1940? They stayed in a white, clapboard cottage called the Pontoosuc Lodge. Does that ring a bell? They visited a friend, Elmer Swack, at his farm in Pittsfield.

beautiful place - Catamount is beautiful. I grew up with Catamount as my back yard, and am sad to see (on a regular basis) 4-wheelers still ripping up the main trails.

Close to home - Nice trails, needs trail markers. Lots of them on ground. Some trees across cart road/trails. Much potential. Went walking Dec, 6th and 8th, 2014
