Long Day Trip from Whitesboro, Tx. - My wife and I stopped at Fort Belknap several years ago. The lady operating the area opened up and let us see the museum. Everything was neat and well kept. One would be amazed at the size of the grape vines at the post. They look like small trees. I was really impressed The arbor covers picnic tables or did at that time. I understood the county had rebuilt the fort from its ruins. I enjoyed the trip and will go back.

Lots of laughs and learning - We learned so much about bird species and just awe inspiring experiences walking the Willow Trail on elevated platform and Shoveler Pond. Didnt expect the alligators we saw but that was added bonus. East Unit was closed and so was visitor center due to Covid. It was sad but allowed us to spend so much more time on the other two places. Its a place everyone should make time for. Mosquito repellent and water a must.

- SOME 15 YRS AGO IT WAS BEAUTIFUL REMEMBER DEER ON THE RD. WHILE I WAS WALKING ALLIGATORS IN A FENCED POND THE FENCE WAS BROKEN OFF I WAS AFRAID THEY COME OUT I WAS OK ....PLAN TO GO VISIT AGAIN SOON ITS BEAUTIFUL

W.G. Jones Park Under Threat - A recent state bill was introduced to allow bulldozing of areas of the W.G. Jones Park for commercial buildings. SB 1964 was recently sponsored by Sen Creighton. It would effectively destroy this park.

9/28/2016 Possum Kingdom State Park by Jame Sea

First time visitor - This park is lovely. Having a level spot is essential in my van. Lots of shade, electricity, water, fire rings, picnic tables and showers in the bath! What more could you want. Entrance and 2 nights = $52.00

- Its a wonderful place to go horseback riding. The trails are nice wide and very well kept. Mostly shaded, good parking, and with a nice mounting block for those people who need it.
